About Kaikai
I earned my bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Ohio State University and my
master’s degree in marriage and family therapy from the University of Akron. I have experience working with adolescents who have severe mental health and/or substance use issues, as well as supporting their families in managing their children's symptoms. I have also supported couples with issues ranging from communication issues to infidelity.
In my role as a therapist, I see myself as a collaborator, creating a warm, welcoming space where you can unpack what’s been on your mind about yourself, your romantic partner, or your family. I am a firm believer that although I’ve received training to be a therapist, you are the expert of your life, and I would like to support you in navigating through the weeds of life. When it comes to therapeutic approaches, I draw on evidence-based frameworks such as emotionally
focused couples therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and family systems theory, as well as
narrative therapy.
I am a systemically trained therapist, which means that when I am working with you (either
by yourself, with your romantic partner, or with your family), I am curious about not only what I can see in the therapy space, but also the external factors that have contributed to what brings you into therapy, such as cultural influences, societal expectations, systemic oppression, and so on. I am more than happy to provide a space to also process how these factors play a role in what brings you to therapy!
If you are looking for a space to process the difficulties you’ve experienced in your life, let it be unexpected changes, romantic relationship issues, or family-related concerns, I am more
than happy to hold a warm and supportive space for you! Please reach out for more information!
