Hi there!
I’m so glad you’re here! My name is Dr. Kinsey Pocchio, and I own Bloom & Heal Therapy! If you’re considering starting therapy or just learning more about who we are at Bloom & Heal, I hope this post and the rest of our blogs provide the answers you are looking for! Each of our providers has written at least one introduction blog, where they can tell you a little bit more about who they are and what therapy with them looks like. As we continue to develop this blog, we will have more entries discussing different items, such as the different types of therapy as well as how we feel our practice can help you become the best version of yourself. Read below for a little more about me!

Who I Am
I’m a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT) who also holds a Ph.D. in marriage and family therapy (MFT) from Florida State University. I am an AAMFT-approved supervisor, a state of Florida-approved supervisor, and a part-time faculty member in the MFT program at Capella University.
As a marriage and family therapist, I am trained to see individuals, couples, and families. I enjoy working with individual clients who have relationship issues, including a recent divorce or separation, as well as couples who feel they are going down this path. I also have specialized training in working with eating disorders, personality disorders, and family issues.
I researched eating disorders from the family perspective during my time at FSU and have recently begun providing more training and education related to family therapy and the process of running a group practice.
My Approach to Therapy
Between my master’s and Ph.D. programs, I am highly trained in a variety of modalities and presenting issues. I have trained extensively in many couples’ modalities, including Gottman therapy and premarital therapy programs such as Prepare/Enrich. I am also specialty trained to see families and really enjoy helping parents and children connect and rebuild their relationship(s). As a therapist, I prefer direct communication with a little bit of humor on the side!
Therapy is a unique and complex process that rarely looks the same from person to person. Beginning sessions involve discussing who you are and what brought you to therapy. As our therapeutic relationship develops, we'll develop a tailored approach to help you get to the root of your challenges.
Who I Work With
I enjoy working with just about anybody! I am currently open to meeting new clients, whether they are couples, families, or individuals. I am currently enrolled with most major insurance panels in an effort to help with the financial burden associated with therapy.
Outside of the Office
When I’m not in session, you can find me at the gym, hanging out with my friends and family, volunteering, or binging reality TV. I am actively involved in the Tallahassee community, including enjoying FSU football games and fostering animals through the Leon County Humane Society.
What to Expect When You Reach Out
I am the one-woman shop for many needs at our office. In between sessions, I am billing, running the front desk, and supervising our therapists. While I am always here, it may be difficult to get me via phone call, so I encourage new clients to email me for a consultation and/or appointment. If you do not prefer email, please leave a message on our answering machine, and I will have a member of my team return your call within 24 hours. If you are planning on using insurance, please let me know in your email so I can begin the process of verifying your benefits!
Let’s Talk
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me! I’d love to connect with you to talk about therapy! You can email me at Kinsey@bloomandhealtherapy.com to get started!
Warmly,
Dr. Kinsey E. Pocchio, Ph.D., LMFT, AS
