Meet Our Therapists: Jenny ReyesGomez

Updated: 9 hours ago

Hi! Nice to meet you. My name is Jenny, and I’m a Master’s student therapist at Bloom & Heal Therapy. I hope this introduction gives you a little insight into who I am, how I work, and whether we might be a good fit. I understand that taking the first step toward therapy can be difficult, and one of my goals is to make that transition feel a little easier.
Who I Am
I’m a second-year Clinical Mental Health Counseling student at Thomas University, currently completing my clinical training as a Master’s student therapist at Bloom & Heal Therapy.
My lived experiences and academic pursuits have shaped my interest in understanding how trauma, cultural influences, and our early relationships can influence the way we see ourselves and connect with others. I’m particularly interested in attachment trauma and Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), as well as the ways these experiences can show up in our relationships, self-esteem, and everyday lives.
I’m especially passionate about providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy to clients navigating family conflict, attachment concerns, ADHD, OCD, perfectionism, anxiety, self-esteem, and identity.
I also have a particular interest in supporting clients experiencing acculturative stress and navigating the complexities of growing up in an immigrant family. This can include balancing different cultural expectations, feeling caught between cultures, managing family responsibilities, or trying to understand where you fit within your family and community. I hope to provide a space where you can explore these experiences openly and feel seen, understood, and supported.
My Approach to Therapy
My approach is rooted in empathy, validation, curiosity, and a genuine desire to understand you.
I value neuroaffirmative therapy, where I don’t see differences in the way your brain works as something that needs to be pathologized. Instead, I want to understand how your brain works, how it interacts with your environment and experiences, and what support might help you thrive.
I also take a holistic and integrative approach because I don’t believe there is a one-size-fits-all version of therapy. Our experiences, relationships, culture, environment, and the way we make sense of what has happened to us all matter.
Most importantly, I believe therapy should be collaborative. In our sessions, you’ll find a safe space to be your authentic self while we work together to build practical strategies that honor your individual strengths and needs. You are the expert on your own life, and I’m here to help you make sense of it, think of it as you are the driver and I am the GPS. I can help you navigate, but you’re still the one deciding where you want to go.
Who I Work With
I work with people who feel disconnected from themselves, struggle with self-esteem, or carry the weight of experiences from childhood into their adult lives.
Maybe you’ve spent years putting other people’s needs before your own. Maybe you’ve been consistently invalidated or made to feel like your feelings were too much, not enough, or simply inconvenient. Maybe you’re overwhelmed by the expectations other people have for you or by the expectations you’ve placed on yourself.
I especially connect with people who are perfectionists and have a hard time giving themselves grace. The person who had to carry burdens that were never theirs to carry. The person who somehow became both the mediator and the black sheep. The person who learned to keep the peace, take care of everyone else, and ignore what they needed in the process.
And if you’ve spent a long time feeling like you’ve never been enough, I want you to know that you are not undeserving, and you don’t have to figure everything out alone.
Whether you’re emerging into adulthood, leaving home, establishing a career, navigating relationships, figuring out your identity, or simply trying to make sense of everything you’ve been carrying, therapy can be a place to slow down and begin making sense of it. Together, we can explore the experiences and beliefs that have shaped how you see yourself and relate to others, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and work toward building greater self-trust, confidence, and clarity. I can support you in learning how to communicate your needs, manage difficult emotions, and make decisions that feel more aligned with who you are rather than just what others expect from you.
Outside of the Office
When I’m not busy being a Master’s student or a therapist intern, you’ll find me being a mom and a creative.
In the little glimpses of time I have, I like to sew and read. I’ve always enjoyed the creative and experimental aspects of life (albeit I tend to hop from hobby to hobby, you should see the poor knitting project I started collecting dust in the corner!).
I’m naturally curious, so I also enjoy continuing to learn outside of the classroom. I regularly attend webinars, courses, and trainings on topics that interest me because I genuinely enjoy expanding my knowledge and finding new ways to understand people.
What to Expect When You Reach Out
I know that reaching out to a therapist for the first time can feel intimidating. Making that process as easy and comfortable as possible is important to me.
Once we connect, I’ll respond within 24 hours, and we can set up a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us a chance to talk a little about what brings you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and see whether we might be a good fit.
If you decide you’d like to move forward, I’ll send you the necessary intake paperwork and walk you through the process. You don’t have to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out before reaching out. That’s what we’re here to work through together.
Let’s Talk
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. Choosing a therapist is a personal decision, and I’d love the opportunity to connect with you, hear your story, and explore whether I might be the right person to support you on your journey.
Feel free to reach out when you’re ready to take the next step! You can email me at jenny@bloomandhealtherapy.com to get started. :)
